It is placed in the Manyara Region on the northern part of Tanzania. The park’s well famed name came from Tarangire River that cut across the park. Tarangire River is the core source of fresh water for a number of wild animals in the Tarangire Ecosystem especially during dry season.
The Tarangire wildlife Ecosystem is well-defined by the distance Wildebeest migration. In dry season thousands of wild animals including wildebeest and zebras come together in Tarangire National Park from the wet-season dispersion and calving areas.
